1. Information We Collect
Account Information: Name, email (via Google Sign-In), phone number (via SIM detection), date of birth, gender, location (city).
Profile Information: Photos, bio, religion, caste, education, profession, income range, hobbies, interests, personality type, languages, marital status.
Verification Data: Government ID (via DigiLocker), phone OTP, WhatsApp OTP, social media links. Stored securely and used only for identity verification.
Usage Data: App interactions, match preferences, chat messages (end-to-end encrypted), video call metadata (duration, not content), payment history.
Device Data: Device type, OS version, SIM carrier name, push notification token. We do NOT collect contacts, SMS, call logs, or precise GPS location.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account
- To match you with compatible profiles using AI-based matching
- To verify your identity and prevent fraud
- To process payments via Razorpay
- To send notifications about matches, messages, and account updates
- To provide customer support via our AI support agent
- To improve our services through anonymized analytics
3. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on secure servers (Neon PostgreSQL, Cloudflare R2). Chat messages are end-to-end encrypted using TweetNaCl. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. API communications use HTTPS/TLS. We implement rate limiting, input sanitization, and security headers.
4. Data Sharing
We do NOT sell your personal data. We share data only with:
- Razorpay: Payment processing (name, amount)
- Google: Authentication (OAuth token)
- DigiLocker: Government ID verification (with your consent)
- Meta (WhatsApp): OTP delivery
- Law enforcement: When required by law
5. Your Rights
- Access: View all your data in the Profile section
- Correction: Edit your profile anytime
- Deletion: Delete your account from Profile → Delete Account. All data is permanently removed within 30 days
- Data Export: Contact support@khwahish.com to request a copy of your data
- Opt-out: Disable notifications from device settings
6. Data Retention
Chat messages are automatically deleted after 30 days. Media files expire after 1 hour. Account data is retained until you delete your account. Payment records are retained for 7 years as required by Indian tax law.
7. Children's Privacy
Khwahish is strictly for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If we discover a minor's account, it will be immediately deleted.
8. Cookies & Tracking
Our web app uses essential cookies for authentication. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising trackers.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy periodically. Users will be notified of significant changes via in-app notification and email.
